I don't let anyone else work on my bikes. They carry solid brands and care more about service than making a sale. They offer rentals and demos. The guys all ride and know their stuff. Shop rides can get pretty sporty and leave from the parking lot Tuesdays at 6:30!
It's nice to walk into a bike shop and have every employee working capable and willing to help you out. They're not there to sell water bottles, this is the place you go for high quality service or to pick out your dream bike.
Traveling from AZ. Needed a quick check of derailleur and help getting BB Hollowtech Pre-load part off and on so I could replace the front sprocket. Brian was awesome I was happy with the price since I didn't think it should cost as much as another LBS quoted.
