Snowbound is a gem in this community. Every community needs a used book store, but the layout of this little place and the way the books reach up toward the ceiling makes it quite magical. There are sections I don't usually see in used bookstores--local writers, creative nonfiction, and graphic novels--and all the shelves are full of new and used books intermingled. I'm always surprised by the great books there and could spend hours perusing. I've found several of my favorite books here, and they aren't bestsellers or books I've even heard of before. There are also notebooks and souvenirs among other items and an extensive children's literature section. Though I'm disappointed that Book World is closing, I know Snowbound has its place in Marquette more than any chain (however small) could.
