Neither peiple in the landscaping area, with whom I'd had one nice meeting, nor the lawncare people will return phone calls. We had a landscape plan almost ready to go but Dave won't call me back to finalize the plan. Meanwhile days in summer are marching on. Lack or any response at all is highly unprofessional and trying to work with these people seems to be an exwrcisw in frustration and a total waste of time and effort. Some in my neighborhood were also interested in working woth this group but have been really put off by my experience.

Loved this place when it was named Meister's and before it was taken over by new owners. Previous owners started and grew most of their own annuals but new owners ship them in. Missing Meister's impressive begonia selection that used to take my breath away. Staff I asked for help seemed to be sorely lacking in knowledge. Missing the previous, family owned company.
I really like that Nagelkirk's started growing their own perennials just this year. The previous owners didn't do that. While the plants are smaller earlier in the season, they are grown in Nagelkirk's greenhouses here in the UP from "starts" from the same supplier as previous years. But not in some hothouse. Makes for hardier plants. Sandy in the perennial house is an amazing resource with an impressive resume.
I enjoyed my experience last year for my first visit to Nagelkirk's. I would like to correct the previous review. I asked if they grow their own plants and they do grow their perenials but bring in annuals from a specific grower downstate that they contract for quality plants. The work force seemed eager to please. The Asst. Mgr came over to welcome us and showed us the various artist items in their gift shop area. She explained the new owners want to encourage local artist by selling their items. I felt they had a heart for the community! We will definitely be coming back this year! (and we are from two hours away)
Suggest more pansies for fall planting in 2018 ;-)
