Right next to a decent restaurant and a grocery store w/ liquor. Pool water was too cold and hot tub was too hot. No complaints other than that. A good stay, overall.
Stayed off season. Late fall. Very clean, neat and courteous staff. I would repeat a visit.
I thought this place was great until trying to check in this morning. I travel to Marquette with my significant other for business, and we had been staying there often, sometimes once or twice a week, since August. Today, the front desk attendant would not allow me to check in early (8:30 is apparently too early, I was told), although there were only a handful of vehicles in the parking lot and I had checked in that early, or even earlier, on numerous occasions. No real reason was given, such as a room wasn't available. (And if that were the case, completely understandable.) I had my dog with me, and would have really hated to drive around until 3:00 with him, but that didn't seem to make much difference to the employee. I went elsewhere, and they promptly checked me in without an issue. If you're in the business of hospitality, you should at least try to be accommodating. (A little bit goes a long way, especially when your destination becomes your home-away-from-home.) Sorry to say, you guys have lost a repeat customer.
The Settle Inn is a nice clean hotel. It's nothing spectacular or anything but it had very clean rooms and the rates were pretty good. I'll give this place a a 4 just for the cleanliness and the value alone. You can't find clean, and good smelling rooms anymore as cheap as this place was.
This place was full of rambunctious youth hockey turds, and I am fairly sure that the front desk actually asked their parents (politely) to get them under control!! I am also fairly sure that the parents had never experienced anything like it before. This hotel is okay in my book! They also have a sauna, a pool, clean rooms, and awesome front desk agents. (Hockey parents take note: Your kids are not special.)
